Portland State Recap

Nice first round game by Xavier. Portland State went down 77-59. Dante' Jackson gets the game ball mainly for setting the tone early and holding Dominguez down in the second half after the little guy scored 13 on us in the first half. X was very balanced scoring wise tonight: Jackson 13, Anderson 14, Raymond 13, and Brown 13. Our point guard woes were put to rest at least for one game. Great time for the team to have a season low 7 turnovers. The Vikings were one and done on their offensive trips most of the second half. We won the rebounding battle 30-20. Did you know Xavier is 13th in the nation in rebounding margin?

Jackson seems to step up big for us when the lights shine the brightest. Tonight was no different. Good team win overall and I was enthused by the play of Terrell Holloway tonight. He seemed to play free and natural. Let's hope that continues.

Well time to do some celebrating. Hoping to catch Wisconsin and Florida State on CBS College Sports. Siena and Ohio State is starting off nicely as well. Need to give a shout out to the Dayton Flyers for their win today over Huggs' West Virginia squad. Chris Wright is the real deal with 27 and 10 today. Thanks for repping the A10. Good luck against the Jayhawks. Temple bowed out the first game for the second year in a row but James Harden from Arizona State is a terrific talent.
