Kevin Parrom

Kevin probably cost himself a shot on our team after a weekend episode with his high school coach Orlando Antigua. He apparently punched his coach after an altercation after a game in a tournament they were in this past weekend. Orlando is not going to press charges but Kevin most likely will not be back at St. Raymond's next year and I doubt he will have a firm offer from XU after this. At least I hope not. Good luck to him but responsibility is important.

Kevin Parrom is a talented player and a very even tempered young man. For an incident like this to happen is very unfortunate but he is a human being and for a person to act out of character like that we should question the situation.

There are two sides to every coin and instead of passing judgement we should analyze the entire incident at hand.

Please do research.

laki,

This is our blog and our opinions. I can only go by what I read at this point and punching a coach is a very 'unfortunate' incident no matter how it came to pass. I think it says something that the coach is not pressing charges but why take a risk? Too often in Cincinnati we have heard about 'unfortunate' situations with athletes and generally they happen again. I will give benefit of the doubt we are talking about a 17 year old kid and obviously not a felony but after the Lavender incidents I don't think coach should be taking chances. I respect your point of view entirely also.

The word from the horses' mouths are that coach Antigua grab Kevin from behind and would not let go, then proceeded to shake Kevin in a manner to yield respect! Kevin told the coach to let him go but the coach wanted him to yield to his authority so Kevin swung his hand to release the grip of his coach which is when is hand contacted the face of Oliver Antigua. The coach who I believe to be disrespectful to players as well as parents of players got what he had coming SIMPLY PUT!!!!!!
